This small parcel of premium fruit was selected from a low yielding section of the vineyard on the Malone property Talinga, held in the family since 1930. The gently sloping vineyard is located in the emerging region of Wrattonbully in the South East of South Australia.
The grapes were fermented and hand plunged in small open slate fermenters then matured in American oak barrels for 24 months.
The 2017 vintage has produced a smooth easy drinking wine with sweet full fruit flavours and a hint of spice. The distinct varietal characters and firm tannins are well balanced with oak. This Shiraz will drink well now or further develop over the next 5-10 years.
